Rick Avery is a stuntman, stunt coordinator, actor and director with nearly 500 feature film and television credits, including “Get Smart”, “Poseidon”, “Titanic”, “The Prestige”, “Star Trek Insurrection”, “The Abyss”, “The Crow”, and “Charlie Wilson’s War.” He has won the Screen Actors Guild Cast Award for “Traffic”, the Best Stunt Ensemble Award in a Motion Picture for “Batman Dark Knight” and the 2009 Taurus World Stunt Award for Best Vehicular Work in “Batman Dark Knight.” Rick has just been inducted to the “Martial Arts Hall of Honors “ for 2010, for Exemplary Achievements and Dedication to the Martial Arts.
Rick has directed two movies and a documentary: “The Expert” and “Deadly Takeover,” both of which were HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax Premieres, and “Raiders Remembered”, a Documentary. His Second Unit Director credits include: “Tenacious D”, “Scream 3”, “Anchorman”, “Identity”, and “The Sweetest Thing.
Rick’s acting credits include the soon-to-be released film, “Edge of Darkness” with Mel Gibson, “Heat”, “Spiderman”, and “Batman Begins”.
Rick is a helicopter instructor at Group 3 Aviation and flies full time for National Helicopters piloting A-Stars and Jet Ranger helicopters. He has flown helicopters for “The Closer”, ‘Three Rivers ‘“Bloodshot”, “Hells Kitchen”, “Jesse James is a Dead Man”, and airplanes for “24”.

He is a college graduate, commercial multi-engine airplane pilot, commercial helicopter pilot and instructor, 5th degree black belt champion, certified scuba diver, Was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and former Santa Barbara Metro Police Officer.
